Return to Source is currently looking for a new location. Thank you for your patience and support in this time of transition.
Farron began her professional life in the forests of Western Canada,
where she worked in silviculture over a 12 year period. Her work allowed her to
travel, explore and study unconventional therapies, which ultimately fostered a unique perspective of the body and paths to healing. She began studying herbal medicine at the Dominion Herbal College and graduated in 2011. While there she was first introduced to the links between stress and the disease state. In 2012 she attended a silent meditation retreat that focused on observing the sensations of the body. This retreat created a bridge between body sensation and state of mind, which further ignited her curiosity about the body mind connection. From there she studied as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist with a focus on plant foraging, and Raja Yoga with an emphasis on the Chakra System.
In 2017, Farron enrolled at the Canadian College of Massage and
Hydrotherapy in Toronto, Ontario. She graduated with a specialization
certificate in Hospital Placements. She completed placements in oncology,
geriatrics, continuous care, musculoskeletal rehab and the neonatal intensive care unit. During these placements, Farron developed a true passion for working with clients who experience chronic pain, stress, depression, and anxiety related to illness, injury or trauma.
Farron graduated in May of 2019, and brought her practice to Nova Scotia.
Her approach to bodywork is holistic and is informed by her education and
experiences. She integrates yogic energetic principles, breath work,
meditation, visualization, general Swedish massage, myofascial release,
passive stretching, joint play, hydrotherapy, and herbal aromatherapy. Farron believes we all contain the innate ability to heal and uses an intuitive approach to create the ideal environment for the body to access its resources. She helps clients achieve this through a calming of the sympathetic system. She values holding space, body/mind education and compassionate listening to gently guide the body toward peace and the potential for deep release.

MASSAGE THERAPY TREATMENT TECHNIQUES
These massage techniques are intuitively combined in your booked appointment to help you reach your treatment goals. Techniques used will be discussed prior to treatment.
TRIGGER POINT THERAPY
Trigger point therapy works to release referral patterns of pain that can spread to numerous areas of the body. Through sustained pressure, repetitive massage, hydrotherapy and stretching these pain patterns can be diminished and eventually eliminated.
GENERAL SWEDISH MASSAGE
Long, broad, sweeping strokes applied to increase circulation, reduce pain, release muscle tension and reduce inflammation.
JOINT PLAY AND RANGE OF MOTION
Low grade joint manipulations and range of motion techniques are utilized to increase range of motion, reduce restrictions and reduce pain.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE AND FRICTIONS
A dry method of releasing the connective tissue that surrounds muscle, bone, joints and organs. A deep technique that allows for greater range of motion, reduced scar tissue, lengthening of muscle and nerve tissue.
BREATH WORK, MEDITATION AND VISUALIZATION
Diaphragmatic breathing, body awareness sequences and visualization help bring the body to a deeper state of relaxation and integration.
HERBAL AROMATHERAPY
Tailored aromatherapy can be used to increase circulation, decrease pain, induce relaxation and stimulate lymphatics.
HYDROTHERAPY
The use of temperature to affect tissue response. This can be applied with gel packs to reduce inflammation, thermofore to increase circulation or contrast for chronic injury. All are applied with the intent to promote healing. Infra red sauna also available for booking.
PROPRIOCEPTIVE
A combination of techniques that help reduce spasm, pain and induce deep feelings of relaxation. This can include vibrational techniques, rocking, shaking and rhythmical movement.
LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE
Reduce swelling and inflammation due to edema, injury or surgery. A lightly applied technique that works to drain from the extremity to the lymphatic terminal in the neck.
JADE STONE MASSAGE
Prized in massage therapy for their smoothness and superior ability to hold set temperature. Can be applied hot or cold depending on presentation of injury.
PRE/POST NATAL MASSAGE
A treatment tailored specifically to the safety and needs of pre/post natal clients - includes proper pillowing and supports.
